An Invitation, Not an Instruction

These reflections are not offered as answers or instructions. They are an account of what the flute, the veterans, and this unexpected journey have helped me notice.

Do not follow me.
Walk beside me for a few pages, and perhaps you will notice your own path.

These reflections grew from the years I have spent with the Flutes for Vets group. Early on, I often prepared handouts for our gatherings—thoughts about breath, listening, creating, sharing, and what the flute was teaching me.

Over time, those pages became difficult to organize and even harder to place in the hands of each new member. This site brings them together. A new member can explore much of what has been shared since the group began, while current members can return to earlier reflections and find the newest additions.

They are not instructions or lessons. They are personal reflections offered as invitations: take what is useful, leave what is not, and allow your own relationship with the flute to unfold.
